Sonnenwiese

Privacy

Sonnenwiese isn't a company, it's a family home — and that's how we treat your details too: we only ask for what we need to answer your request, and then we throw it away.

Who is responsible

Frits de Leeuw looks after Sonnenwiese and is responsible for the details that come in through this site. Questions about them? Write to mail@sonnenwiese.nl — it goes straight to him.

What we ask of you

If you send a request through the form, we store:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your phone number, if you fill it in — it isn't required
  • your arrival and departure dates and how many of you are coming
  • your message, if you leave one
  • the language you were reading the site in, so we reply in that language

Nothing more. No home address, no date of birth, no payment details — we sort that out personally if your stay goes ahead.

Why we keep it

To check whether the apartment is free, answer your request and arrange your stay. That is the only reason. You won't get a newsletter from us, we don't sell anything on, and your details never go to anyone else for their own purposes.

How long

One year after your request. The site then deletes it automatically — every night, with no one involved. If your stay falls further ahead, we wait until it is over; otherwise the calendar would show those days as free again. If you'd like it gone sooner, a short email is enough. One exception: if your request turns into an actual stay, the invoice ends up in the owner's bookkeeping. He is legally required to keep that for seven years, separately from this website.

Who else sees it

Only the services that keep the site running. They may use your details for that purpose alone:

  • Supabase — the database your request is stored in, on servers in Frankfurt, Germany
  • Resend — sends the confirmation to you and the notification to us, from servers in Europe
  • Vercel — runs the website itself
  • Cloudflare — looks after the domain and forwards post sent to mail@sonnenwiese.nl

Cookies

We don't have any. No analytics, no advertising, no social media buttons looking over your shoulder. That's why you won't see a cookie notice here — there is simply nothing to accept. The map on the practical page comes from OpenStreetMap and doesn't set any either.

Your rights

You can always ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it erased. One message to mail@sonnenwiese.nl is enough. If we can't work it out together, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority or to the regulator in your own country.

Security

The site runs entirely over an encrypted connection, and the database can't be reached directly from the internet — only the site itself can get to it.
